Killa Vasai (Vasai Fort), Mumbai

We were a bevy of four- making memories at each other's place; yet every plan of a get2gether at Nicz place ..would some how be postponed, and thereafter cancelled. The reason -most often was the dread of traveling beyond Andheri Station.. (Don't worry. It's not that scary- just avoid peak hours).

So finally in November 2015, we planned a day out with just the 2 of us -to live the partial Goa experience in Vasai. The muse behind it was the thought of separation post-wedding; the truth however was, and is, that hi5, orkut, whatsapp, fb, hangout -has already solved that issue. Keeping the false sense of realities apart, it's also about the chance and experience -which must be pursued without delay, if you wish to.

...Looking in the mirror before leaving home -something's missing.

Looking in the mirror before leaving home -something's missing.
Aah my head-scarf.. after draping it according to my comfort -feels complete :)..

Sometimes I wonder why so much focus is put on this 1 little aspect of being a
Muslim woman (to the detriment of more important knowledge and practice
of Islam). Because the headscarf is suchh a "visual symbol" of the Muslim
woman...

Oh My God! ...review

“Go back to the books that claim divinity... and snuff out the burning candles of ignorance”

…shouts the movie - ‘Oh My God!’

With the start of the movie I had in mind – would be crap fun; since the cast includes Paresh Rawal, Akhshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty.. As the movie progressed, I still had the same thoughts –giggling and laughing my wits off mindlessly over this “divine comedy” …until the climax of the movie –when I really could relate the beginning (with the help of flashbacks ofcourse ;P ) with its strong social message. Though the song ‘Go-Go Govinda’ felt very forceful, on me as audience, in such a beautiful movie.

describing the Deen of islam

Islam is a revival of the weak tradition of monotheism of the known Abrahamic religions.

It is the submission of one's body(tangible being), soul(spirit, ruh), mind(intelligence with which we are free to make choices, decisions), and heart, thus the whole self to Allah (the Lord).

The Deen(religion- way of life) of Islam is analysed along 3 (interlinking) dimensions -islam, imaan, ihsaan.

The Herstory Excursion

Reaching the ticket counter at sharp 07.30am as decided made me realize its high time that I should practice the mantra of paper IX - the mantra of being updated. With patient expectations the early birds hoped to see a good number of history sophomores to turn up by 08.30am. The (approximate) one hour wait was spent strolling around the magnificent archway [the Gate Way of India] jinxed by the unobtrusive weeds with the inscription, “Erected to commemorate the landing in India of their Imperial Majesties King George …” (Bla…). The sound of pigeons flapping their wings in the air with the ‘hullabaloo’ of motor created an aura of ‘just another day’ for all. But for us it was a special one, since many of us were visiting Gharapuri [the Elephanta Caves] for the first time. The attendance reflected our enthuse for the ‘educational excursion’ cum ‘bonding’ – where we would spend the day with busy pigeons in the city wilderness and the repellent monkeys of Gharapuri; away from the serene Central Lawn, the colorful Canteen and the informative Information Centre (for a change).
